Cherry Time: Amazing First Day and New Stretch Goals
almost 5 years ago – Wed, Jun 19, 2019 at 01:55:38 PM

What a wonderful first day, better than anything I had hoped for! Thank you all so very much!

In addition to getting Mike Duncan onboard with the project, we also have the next stretch goal up, a new optional character for the game: Elisabeth Dmitrieff!

Elisabeth was a young Russian woman who rapidly rose to prominence in the Commune on the important Union of Women for the Defense of Paris. A member of the International, she bridges the gap between that organization and the Communard leadership.

Welcome to the Revolutions Introduction

Fans of Mike Duncan's great Revolutions podcast--most definitely including me--may be interested to hear that he has graciously agreed to write the introduction to Red Carnations!

Revolutions literally played a big part in the subconscious origins of this project; I had been thinking of maybe doing some kind of French revolution game as something for my friends to do and so was re-listening to the mammoth 50+ episode series Mike did (it's great stuff, strong recommend) right around when I found Mary Talbot's graphic novel on Louise Michel down at the Strand used book store in New York. So it's nice seeing things come full circle :)

His series on the Paris Commune starts here; it's definitely worth your time.

It's so amazing that we've done so well today! I am truly humbled and thankful for all your support. Thanks to you we've hit our first stretch goal so we will be having much more of Juan Ochoa's amazing illustrations in the game!

I'll be posting up the next stretch goal this evening: a new optional character to include in the game! Stay tuned!

Thank you everyone for funding so far! Seeing my little dream receive so much attention so quickly has been a profound and humbling experience. I am so grateful to you all!

Our first stretch goal is now up: more of Juan Ochoa's wonderful art to bring the Commune to life at your table! And there's plenty more to look forward to in the days and weeks to come!
